Description & instructions

C (open chord - diagram 1/3) The primarily difficulty with this chord is to make the five strings that are included to ring out well. To make this happen, you must avoid letting the ring finger on the fifth string touch the fourth string. It isn't strictly necessary to play on the first strings.

Finger positions

This is how you place your fingers when playing this chord:

  • Index finger on 2nd string, 1st fret
  • Middle finger on 4th string, 2nd fret
  • Ring finger on 5th string, 3rd fret.

This is regarded as the standard fingering, although alternatives can be possible. The 6th string can be muted, by touching it slightly, with the thumb.
